About the Artist

 

Hi, I'm Amy! I've always had a fascination with photographs, especially the people's eyes in professional photography. The eyes always seemed to be telling the person's story, and I liked that. I moved around a lot as a child, so making connections was difficult because I'd only be staying for a short time. As humans, I think we all have a need for that human connection; for me, I found it in books and photography. There is something about creating something from nothing that I cannot possibly begin to explain. But because it was such a fulfilling feeling, I have explored many creative arts--dance, painting, drawing, sewing and my true true love PHOTOGRAPHY. My goal when I take a picture is to capture the subject as a person, so that the viewer feels like they know something about this person just by looking into their eyes, almost like looking into their soul. Humans are very deep and amazing creatures, everyone has a story, I could sit and listen to those stories for days and days. I hope to tell their story with my images.
